young collector Young Collectors and Dealers alike loved the 2012 Young Collectors Booth and built on that success in 2013.

The Young Collectors Booth, was curated and staffed by knowledgeable Young Collectors Committee members, featuring moderately priced items- typically under $300. This booth gave guests a central location to shop for items that might inspire them to begin a collection or expand upon an existing collection. A wide variety of dealers had the opportunity to feature inventory marketed in vignettes such as: baby gifts, wedding gifts, men’s gifts, bar ware, etc…

All sales went directly to the dealer! Young and the not so young alike stopped by to see all of the enticing items available at the Young Collectors Booth.

The 2013 Young Collectors Party, sponsored by the Scott-McRae Group\ Duval Dealers was held on October 3rd at Stellers Gallery in San Marco. Led by event chairs Ann Evans, Heather Houston, Shannon Langley, Sarah Richmond, Simmons Skinner, and Cameron White, the Women’s Board hosted a fabulous party while raising money for the new Pediatric Surgery Center of Distinction at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

The gallery was decorated with flowers arranged by Ann Evans, and guests were treated to delicious food, wine, and beer donated by Designed Events, Fisherman’s Dock, Premier Beverage, and Grape & Grain Exchange. Guests bid on amazing silent-auction items donated by Anita’s Garden Shop, Emly Benham, Frenchy’s Spa, Grape & Grain Exchange, Hot Spot Power Yoga, Olive Clothes, Radiance of San Marco, Scott-McRae Group \ Duval Dealers, Sierra Grill, Stellers Gallery, The Write Touch, and Thérapie Boutique. To cap off the evening, the names of winners of a chance drawing were pulled from an antique box. A few lucky guests received a certificate for a weekend golf getaway to The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, tickets to a Florida Forum event, tickets to an Art & Antiques Show lecture, and gift certificates to Let Them Eat Cake.

This year, Hugh Greene, President and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health, and Dr. Michael Erhard, Chairman of Children’s Surgical Services and Chief of Pediatric Urology at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, said a few words to the young collectors about the importance of private funding and the exciting new funding target.
