On December 1, 2011, The Women’s Board celebrate the 35th annual Art & Antiques Show benefiting Wolfson Children’s Hospital at a “Deco and Diamonds” Opening Night Party that would make Gatsby swoon. Evoking images of 1930s elegance, sleek lines, stylish modernism and new technologies, the theme wowed guests at every turn.

Patrons of the Opening Night Party were escorted out of their cars by valets to walk the red carpet past an impressive line of antique cars and through doors held open by elegant doormen in top hats and tails.

Inside, a feast for the senses awaited. The sounds of an 18-piece Big Band orchestra filled the Grand Lobby, and guests danced the night away. More antique automobiles, sleek sculptures, vintage airplane models, mirrored obelisks, Deco travel posters and elegant flower arrangements in mercury glass and metallic vases filled the dining spaces. Guests enjoyed a truly elegant meal, including lamb, quail and a stunning array of exquisite desserts. Most enticingly, fifty antiques dealers from around the country displayed and sold their wares.

The ticket price alone was cause enough for the 35-and-under crowd to celebrate—for $100 each, “Young Collectors” toasted the 2011 Show in decadent, deco-era style at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

Tickets to the fabulous fete for revelers in their prime were comparatively reasonable at $250 each, especially given the tide of signature cocktails and cordials, whole-pit orchestra, sneak-peeks at the bevy of international antiques collections, and lavish dinner.
